I can’t tell you how many times someone has asked me, “how do you afford to take so many vacations?”  Well, unfortunately it’s not because we’re super rich. Nor do I work for some fun travel company. I can only dream!  The simple answer is that I responsibly and strategically earn thousands of points and miles for travel… All. The. Time.

Points Guy

Years ago, a very good friend of mine showed me how to use credit card Welcome Bonuses to stockpile huge amounts of points &miles for airfare and hotels. It all seemed very complicated at the beginning, but once you apply some basic steps and strategies, you’ll find, like me, that really ANYONE can do this. Over the past several years, I feel like I have learned and almost perfected the art of accumulating Credit Card points in order to offset our traveling costs.

I have never wasted a vacation day sitting at my home in Arkansas, unless I was actually sick.  Each vacation day is like gold to me. It’s a day of exploring a new place with my little family.  A day to escape everyday life.  A day to be LAZY!!

Playing the points game

At the beginning of each year, I think of about 5 or 6 places that I would like to go. And then, I get to work on researching, planning, & opening cards to get the right points to book our vacations for super cheap (and sometimes free). Over the past 15 years, my husband and I have traveled to 23 different countries….all because of points! And you can do this too. You just need to take the right steps.
