Using Points & Miles
How I use Credit Cards to travel for (almost) FREE
I can’t tell you how many times someone has asked me, “how do you afford to take so many vacations?” Well, unfortunately it’s not because we’re super rich. Nor do I work for some fun travel company. I can only dream! The simple answer is that I’m playing the points game.

Seven years ago, a very good friend of mine showed me how to use credit card bonuses to get miles for airfare and hotels. It all seemed very complicated at the beginning, but once you apply some basic steps and strategies, you’ll find, like me, that really ANYONE can do this. Over the past several years, I feel like I have learned and almost perfected the art of “churning cards” in order to offset our traveling costs.
I have never wasted a vacation day sitting at my home in Arkansas, unless I was actually sick. Each vacation day is like gold to me. It’s a day of exploring a new place. A day to escape everyday life. A day to be LAZY!!
At the beginning of each year, I think of about 5 or 6 places that I would like to go. And then, I get to work on researching, planning, opening/closing cards to get the right points to book our vacations for cheap (and sometimes free). Over the past 6 years, my husband and I have traveled to 18 different countries by playing the points game. I now know that there are many others out there, like me, that can do it too. They just need to take the right steps. Get your FREE GUIDE to the steps right here.
It’s important to note, however, that playing the points game is not always easy. People will sometimes say to me, “there’s too much to keep up with.” Or, “credit cards are too scary.” In the very beginning, it was pretty complicated to me also. But there are a few simple steps you can do today to put your toe in the water. You have to build up. While you may not earn enough points to take 5 or 6 trips this year, you can earn at least enough to maybe take one big trip. And then 2-3 big trips next year. And so on, and so on.
