Family-Friendly Resort in Colorado Springs

My husband and I, and our 2 toddlers, recently escaped Arkansas’ August heat by heading to Colorado. We’ve been to Colorado many times, but this was our first time to visit Colorado Springs. I was in search for a family-friendly town with plenty of outdoor activities, given we are still in the midst of a pandemic. Read here for 12 awesome things to do in Colorado Springs with Kids. The Garden of the Gods Resort & Club hosted our stay, and it was a perfect home base for exploring the area. Each morning we’d venture out to tour Colorado Springs, and then we’d spend the afternoons/evenings relaxing at the resort and playing at the family recreation center. It’s a vacation that I will cherish forever.

Below are some details about the resort, our room and the grounds. If you are in the area, I highly recommend considering staying at the Garden of the Gods. The views from the rooms are hard to beat and the resort offers some incredible amenities that are super convenient for families.

Garden of the Gods Resort-Room 102

Our room with a view! Actually, all the rooms have an incredible view. We’d wake up, pour a cup of coffee from the Nespresso coffee maker, and sit out on our private porch overlooking the Garden of the Gods Park and Pikes Peak. Pure bliss. Each room also comes with a Plum Wine Dispenser that serves fine wines by the glass for purchase. How convenient is that!? Our room also came with a refrigerator, a microwave (upon request), and a crib (upon request). There was ample room for the 4 of us. Check out my video below for a run-through of the room and grounds of this family-friendly resort in Colorado Springs.

Kids Club

Traveling with toddlers can be tough. Any parent would be relieved to know there’s a Kid’s Club with qualified caretakers onsite. Jimmie and Emily LOVED playing in the kid’s club and Will and I had a much needed relaxing few hours to ourselves. You will need to call ahead to schedule a time for your kid’s visit at this family-friendly resort in Colorado Springs.

Spa & Wellness Center

After you drop the kids off at the Kid’s Club, head over to the Spa and treat yourself. The resort offers not only a Spa, but also a full blown Wellness Center. The Garden of the Gods Resort Wellness center will do health assessments and offer treatments and services ranging from Acupuncture to Zen Mindfulness. Be sure to make an appointment ahead of time.

Recreation Center

We spent many afternoons at the Recreation Center & Pool. Our kids loved it! There is an awesome playground with a panoramic view of the city on one side and mountains on the other. There is also a splash pad and kiddie-pool for toddlers. The Kissing Camels Grill & Bar (adjoining the pool) was super convenient and the food was delicious.

Pools

There are 3 pools to choose from at the Garden of the Gods Resort. The Recreation Center (mentioned above), the three Graces Pool and hot tub, and the adult’s only Infinity Pool. We dropped the kids off at the Kid’s Club on a Friday evening and Will and I were able to enjoy drinks and dinner at the Infinity Pool! The view is incredible.

Formal and Casual Dining

Since we had 2 toddlers with us, we ordered room service quite a bit because of the convenience. Eating on our private porch was hard to beat. We also tried many of the casual dining options. If you plan to eat in the formal dining room, you will need to call ahead to make reservations.

Fitness Center, Tennis, & Golf Course & More

The Garden of the Gods Resort has a ton of amenities. I didn’t get to try out the gym, tennis courts or golf, as we were limited on time, and spent most of it exploring all that Colorado Springs has to offer. But it’s always nice to know these are options during long-stay vacations.

Covid 19 – Re-opening Protocols

All of the amenities at the resort are now currently open. The Garden of the Gods Resort had many protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of its guests during this pandemic. Masks were required for all guests on the property 11 years and older. You must call ahead to reserve the use of pools in order to limit the capacity of people. And same goes for all the dining outlets on the property. There were also many hand sanitizing stations placed throughout the resort. I truly appreciated all of the measures in place and felt much more comfortable because of them
