In a few weeks we’ll be exploring a new island w In a few weeks we’ll be exploring a new island we have never been to for our summer vacation..(Any guesses?). Meanwhile, all the planning got me reminiscing on some of my favorite islands we have been to in the past. Here’s my top 5:

1. Jamaica: Known for its beautiful beaches, lush waterfalls, friendly locals, and delicious cuisine, Jamaica is a great place for families to soak up some sun and experience the island’s vibrant culture.

2. Cayman Islands: If you’re looking for a luxurious family vacation, the Cayman Islands are a great choice, with their upscale resorts, world-class dining, and stunning beaches. We took Jimmie when he was just 5 months old and GC goes down as one of my favorite vacations!

3. St. John: With miles of gorgeous beaches, crystal-clear waters, and plenty of family-friendly activities, St. John offers something for everyone. From hiking in the national park to snorkeling with sea turtles, your kids will never be bored. I also just happened to finish my latest blog post listing the best 10 beaches on St John’s (link in bio).
4. Kauai: the island’s natural beauty is perfect for families looking to explore the great outdoors. From hiking along breathtaking cliffs to swimming in crystal-clear waters, Kauai offers endless opportunities for family adventure.
5. Isla Mujerus: Kids will love exploring the island on the golf carts, and playing on the white sand beaches. And with plenty of kid-friendly restaurants and accommodations, parents can relax and enjoy the island’s laid-back atmosphere.
Which of these destinations would you choose for your next family vacation? Let us know in the comments below! 🌴 #familytravel #caribbeanvacation #kidfriendlydestinations #islandgetaway
3 reasons why traveling with young kids is worth t 3 reasons why traveling with young kids is worth the trouble:

1. Exposure to new cultures: Traveling with young kids can expose them to new cultures, foods, languages, and customs. This can help broaden their understanding of the world and increase their empathy and respect for others. And yes, even a one year old can pick up the language.

2. Family bonding: Traveling together as a family can create lasting memories and strengthen your family bond. I know this sounds cheesy, but for us, it is so true.

3. Educational opportunities: Traveling with young kids can provide many educational opportunities. It can be a chance to visit historical sites, museums, and other landmarks, and learn about different subjects such as history, geography, and science in a tangible way. And while, they may not retain much of it at 1 or 2 years old, it prepares them for the experiences later. Plus it’s super fun to chase pigeons! 😆

Most people might say that traveling overseas to Italy with a one and two year old is nuts. Maybe we were nuts. It was definitely hard. But in hindsight, so worth it!

I read that the town of Saturnia was a hidden gym I read that the town of Saturnia was a hidden gym in Tuscany. But when we pulled up to Cascate del Mulino, it was COVERED in ants…I mean people. And they were all there to take their instagram photos. Nevermind that I was ALSO there to take some instagram photos. 😆

Cascate del Mulino is a natural hot spring fed by sulphuric thermal waters that flow down a series (aka ditches) of small waterfalls and form natural pools that are open to the public and popular for bathing. The water is believed to have therapeutic properties and is said to be beneficial for the skin and body.

But it was way too crowded and I wasn’t willing to wait in line for a pool. So we did what any Arkansan would do and improvised. 🥰

Who needs a fancy spring when you can relax in a good ol’ fashioned ditch? And by old I mean…thousands of years old 😳 🇮🇹

Is your Passport about to expire? I just realized Is your Passport about to expire? I just realized my passport expires in 7 months. And most airlines and countries will not allow you to travel internationally if your passport expires within 6 months. Not to worry, renewing it is easier than you think! Here's how:
1️⃣ Fill out Form DS-82 online or print it out and complete it by hand
2️⃣ Collect your most recent passport, a new passport photo, and the applicable fees
3️⃣ Mail in your application to the address listed on the form
4️⃣ Track your application status online and wait for your new passport to arrive in the mail
I just mailed mine in and am super excited for the next adventure!

Yesterday I received a DM from a mom who was overw Yesterday I received a DM from a mom who was overwhelmed about planning her family’s summer holiday. “Where do I even start?” she asked. “It’s so stressful…Flights are expensive and my family can’t agree on the destination. I don’t want to settle for Destin, FL again.” 😆

Well, I’ve mentioned this before about “agreeing” on the destination…but someone in the family needs to just take charge. In my family, I do the research and then let the points or cheap flight tell me where we are going. I particularly love to play around on Skyscanner because it compares prices from various airlines to help you find the cheapest flights available. It also offers a price alert feature that notifies you when the price of a specific flight changes, allowing you to book at the best time to save money. I usually begin by using the "whole month" and "everywhere" search options on Skyscanner, which can help you find the cheapest flights available within a specific time frame or to ANY destination. And the ideas start rolling in.
Anywho, it’s a good starting place.
I’ll share some more tools that I use to plan later next week! Happy weekend!#skyscanner #travelmoreforless #cheapflights #travelonabudget #lazylaurenworldtour #familyvacaplanning
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there! It isn’t lost on us how lucky Will and I are to have both of our parents just minutes down the road. From school pick-ups, to doctors appointments, to keeping them for a week while we galavanted off to Italy…Day after day, week after week, our moms are our rocks!!. It truly takes a village and we have one of the best around. We’d be completely lost without our Nana and Nanny. Thanks so much for all you do! We love you! 💕
(Note: the second picture is my mom holding me and my brother at ages 3 and 1….do you see the resemblance to Jimmie and Emily? 😍🥰)

8 hours in Rome is not the most ideal amount of ti 8 hours in Rome is not the most ideal amount of time, but I’m so glad we were able to squeeze it in before flying home the next morning. Im bad about scheduling date nights at home, so this was just icing on the cake to our week in Tuscany. In the 8 hours, we toured the Colosseum, then strolled over to the Pantheon 🏛️. And topped the night off with dinner near the Trevi fountain. Cosi’ bello!

😆 Mom guilt is a bitch y’all. 😆 Don’t ge 😆 Mom guilt is a bitch y’all. 😆 Don’t get me wrong…we are absolutely having a blast and I know how important these kinds of getaways are for me and Will. But when you get a call from one of the grandparents saying your child has an ear infection with fever and you’re 5,000 miles away…the anxiety sets in. Part of it is Jimmie’s autism and how he’ll handle things without me. Part of it is feeling bad for the grandparents. They would NEVER say that it’s a burden, but I feel guilt for leaving so much responsibility on them while we’re away. And part of it, is just simply missing my babies 🥹.
Either way, Will is always good about wording things into perspective and never fails to cheer me up and make me laugh if I start to let too much worry take over.
Tell me, how do y’all handle stuff like this?
