About

Hey Y’all!

Welcome to Lazy Lauren World Tour

Call me lazy, but all I ever want to do is go on vacation.  Family Travel is one of my highest priorities! One of the best feelings in the world is putting the “Out of Office” automatic-reply into Outlook/Email, with just a few minutes left in the work day, right before leaving to go on holiday.  Feelings of excitement, the unknown, adventure, and taking the days to spend quality time with the ones I love.

The real world is hard.  Pushing papers, answering phone calls, entering data and punching numbers. My day-job? I’m an accountant. My passion? Traveling with my family…Exploring someplace new with our little toddlers in tow. That’s where life gets exciting!

Where we started

My husband and I started traveling together when we were quite young.  I was 15 and he was 16 when we met and had our first date here in Little Rock, Arkansas.  It was less than a year later when we snuck off to Dallas together to go to Six Flags for the weekend. Our parents were none too pleased. But, for me, that was the very first spark of adventure and wanderlust that I have never quite been able to do away with since.  After 10 years of courtship, college, Will’s law school, getting my CPA, & several trips together, we got married, later had a baby, had another baby 15 months later, and well, the rest is history.

The Points Game – Family Travel for Cheap, Even Free!

Right after college, a good friend of ours introduced us to the “Points Game.”  Since then, I feel like I have learned and almost perfected the art of “churning” cards to take our vacations for cheap and often free.  I have not mastered the art like “the Points Guy” but our vacation needs are on a much simpler scale.  I have never wasted a vacation day sitting in my hometown, unless I was actually sick.  Each vacation day is like gold to me. A day of exploring a new place and to escape everyday life. And, yes, a day to be lazy.

At the beginning of each year, I think of about 5 or 6 places that I would like to go, and I get to work on researching, planning, opening/closing cards to get the right points/miles to book our vacations for super cheap and sometimes even free. Over the past 6 years, my husband and I have traveled to 20+ countries by playing the points game.  I now know, that there are so many other people out there, like me, that can do it too.  They just need the know-how. The Travel Blog

So now, I have decided to compile all of this knowledge and the lessons and mistakes, that we have learned along the way, into a blog.  My goal for Lazy Lauren is to share everything from packing tips, to city guides and itineraries, to tips on traveling with babies & Toddlers.

Most Importantly, I want to encourage you to take that vacation that you have been putting on the back burner for years just because it will cost too much or be too hard to travel with kids. I will share our first-hand experiences, show you how to make family travel more affordable with points & miles, and prove you can still continue to make awesome travel memories even with your tiny travelers in tow.

I am passionate about making family travel work. Life is short and we must live it to the fullest.  For me, traveling and exploring the world with the ones I love makes me feel like I am doing just that!
